Our Tigbauan, Iloilo Apartment

Our apartment is in this duplex building. Photo is taken from the beach
We rented in Molo, Iloilo City for two and a half years. Our new apartment is steps from the beach in Tigbauan, Iloilo, about 22 km from Iloilo City.

Our Tigbauan Apartment

In our apartment, Filipinas master the Internet. Left to right: Lika, Carol and Allen

We have a carport and a car wash team!

Beachfront Promenade

My beachfront parapet/reading nook at sunrise

The seawall from below
During storms, waves will break over this seawall, sending coconuts and gravel over the wall. The pounding of the waves on this seawall is easily heard from our apartment. The salty spray covers everything.

Sunset at our apartment

The two km. stroll to our Tigbauan property is through pleasant agricultural landscapes is a real treat and a pleasant change from the streets of Iloilo City.

awesome! everything i would be looking for. the only problem is – what happened to the beach? where’s the path to the sea water, if you want to go swimming?

Jim,
There is a path through the breakwater to the shore. Also it’s just a short walk along the shore to one of the best beaches near Iloilo City. The Sol y Mar Resort is on the same beach. A long stretch is owned by a wealthy guy from Manila, is undeveloped and quite nice.

Hi Bob, Is this the house that you’re building in Tigbauan? or this is the apartment you temporarily staying while your house is still under construction? It looks beautiful and serene. Thanks for the pictures, I really miss my hometown. Godbless and best regards.

Reynaldo, it’s the apartment we are renting. We have not yet started construction on the house. We’re working on plans and permits. Also we are planting – malunggay, palms, acacia, bougainvillea etc. That’s fun! Everything grows like crazy.

David,
We pay P11,000 per month and have a one year rental agreement. Nice apartments are hard to find but our former apartment in Molo is now available. We found both apartments we have had through word of mouth.

Roberto,
The only nice apartment that I know of for rent is our old apartment in Molo. It’s twice a big as our Tigbauan apartment but of course more expensive. See http://goiloilo.com/furnished-apartment-for-rent-in-iloilo-city/
Good luck!

Nice.. I haven’t been in Tigbauan for ages. I am the descendants of the Ledesma-Hilado in Tigbauan. Many things have changed. I hope Tatay Jose Ledesma’s Coco Beach Resort is still around.

Joy,
Yes, Coco Grove is very much still around — very pretty and close to our apartment. My niece and I walk past Coco Grove every morning on the way to her school, Queen of Heaven Mission School.

Hi Bob,
I dont really know you but reading and surfing on your site it reminds me of how great and nice to be in my birth country.
My family and I, we always spend our vacation back home in Iloilo City and planning to retire then in the future. I am wondering if there is still any place that we can afford to buy out in Tigbauan area? Its a kind of very relaxing place . Would you mind giving me some ideas just around Tigbauan? and i will appreciate it much. Thanks and good luck….. God Bless.

Jeff,
Land prices in Tigbauan are around P1000 per square meter for properties with good road access, electric. Farm land properties can be much less.
